Research Interests:

My research interests lie at the intersection of genome evolution, ecology, and reproduction.  In particular, my research focuses on the interactions between mutation, natural selection, and reproductive mode in nematodes.  I am investigating both mutation-based (neutral) and selection-based (adaptive) theories on the evolution of sexual and asexual reproduction.  In developing a model system in which to study these processes, I have narrowed in on the genus PanagrolaimusPanagrolaimus contains species exhibiting three modes of reproduction, gonochorism, hermaphroditism, and parthenogenesis.  In addition, I also contribute to the development of statistical and computational tools for analysis of microarray data sets.
